Telling him that he is returning home and suspending his lectures for a fortnight; mentioning that he promised a man "who represented the Brooklyn Lyceum" that he would lecture there next Thursday; asking Rice to find this man and tell him that Emerson will be unable to lecture "by reason of a sudden necessity of going to Massachusetts."
